Very well resourced from someone who was in a place to know what was going on back then. A President wanted to get the country into war then and didn't mind lying, and we already know that Bush/Cheney want to broaden this aggression for many, many years and certainly didn't mind twisting and hiding the truth to get the gullible public to go along. Just ask McCain, he thinks it would be a good idea to keep it going for a hundred years!

He sets off to portray the media as blatantly biased in favor of Democrats, and totally fails there. I fear the whole story was just about his bias as a Republican to make mountains out of molehills when it comes to Democratic missteps. This is just more of the same, blame it on the liberal media, when there is really no such thing. The media lets the conservatives get by with just about anything and often stoops to gossip when it comes to Democrats. What a crock.

Yes, the only thing I see that the article didn't mention is that the illegal spying on Americans started before 9/11. It's important that a court review the wiretapping, because there is too much temptation for the program to be used for purposes such as spying on political rivals, or even used for blackmail purposes to pressure opponents. The court has found the program as Bush has been using it to be unconstitutional, so the main reason he's pushing so hard is to cover his own law-breaking.

Where is the source that says the Dems have introduced legislation to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine? It seems that Norm Coleman is the one trying to silence voices on the left by claiming they're trying to do something that wasn't even considered. Same old extreme right wing crap.

Mr. Fund cites the "Tennessee Center For Policy Research" which was only recently formed by a Drew Johnson of the Heritage Foundation ultra-right wing "think tank". The Tennessee Department of Revenue does NOT recognize the newly organized the TN Center for Policy Research as a legitimate organization, and has instructed its employees not to respond to TN Center's requests for information. According to reports on MSNBC, Mr. Johnson totally skewed the information that all these right-wingers in such a tizzy. Speaking of tizzies and hissy-fits, Mr. Fund is a notorious ultra-right wing hack who will do ANYthing to further right wing causes. As it goes with these guys, just make an accusation and most of the newsmodel-stenographers ... More »

Story is a big slanted. Other presidents have fired attorneys. One big difference here is the e-mail that states the need to get rid of attorneys that aren't following along with the Bush plan. Aren't prosecutors supposed to be following the laws instead of looking for political gain for the current administration?

Problem is that the New York Times is reporting today (Jan 19) that the ethics and lobbying bill passed overwhelmingly, with a vote of 98-2. Only two Republicans voted against it. What's going on here?

operative word here should be "copies" of the report. Nowhere does it say that he took the originals and destroyed them, just three of five copies.
