I've read two stories from Jason and both were on this subject. However - it does seem like something is going on there, but I liken more to the outrageous workers comp stuff I've seen on television before. Maybe in this case someone in authority knew and tried to act, and now is being critisized because the subject was a former in-law. I think the focus needs to be more balanced - as in was the trooper scamming worker's comp? No one is asking this question - why?
As I read this I got a little confused as to whether the author was actually writing a news piece or just reciting what he was told by the defense attorney Maason. There was some information here, but it apparently just comes from one side as I did not see any mention of trying to contact any of the lawsuit filers, let alone any of their words. The story should also contain some info about how this Branchflower person could possibly complete his report without actually finishing the investigation.
This is a fair and balanced look at the typical misinterpretation, misdirection and outright deception always evident in today's American political landscape.
It is entertaining. However I don't see any balance, objectivity, or any kind of documented sources so I have to question the veracity of this "news" piece. It seems mostly an opinion - and you know what they say about those...
Not sure it constitutes good journalism. I am unclear on the actual rift that the author speaks of, but his commentary does seem fair and thoughtful.
Since it is an opinion piece, sources are less relevant. The fact that it is about a friend of the writer made me wonder about fairness also. However having read the piece I feel the information seems genuine and heartfelt. I have learned about a facet of Tim Russert's personality that I never would have known and am comfortable with recommending this article.
My problem with this story is many typos, and all it does is basically recite (or regurgitate) some items from the Reid documentary. Also we can't tell if it is sourced good since it brings forth no other data.
Seemed more of an opinion piece to me - not much in the way of quoted sources, just references to sources.
