Member (since February 2011)Hi everyone! I'm Starr Bostic. I am a dedicated college student at Morgan State University that is majoring in Radio Production and minoring in Journalism. I am also a retired blogger that is giving the Blogger World another shot. I love to share my opinion on things I see and hear and to potentially share something new with my readers, if any. Good news, that is also entertaining, is hard to find and I hope to change that. I cant wait to see what lies in the future!
The tilte of the article is misleading. Racial tension and Obama would make the reader feel that the article would discuss Obama being an African American during his first family vacation. Instead, we learn about an immigration problem. Majority of the quotes were biased and the story didnt flow well. Overall, not a very good example of good journalism.
Although the article was well written, I would have liked to have seen a quote from a rural MD resident because the issue that is discussed affects them. Their views on the mayor's enviromental plans would have made the story a little more unique.
I believe this article explains the State of the City address in a clear, concise way. Not only did it provide the reader with a variety of different voices, it also broke down what Mayor Rawlings-Blake has in mind for Balitmore. Although the topic of budget cuts and "touch choices" is something I have been hearing about lately, I think this article portrays good journalism.
