This story covers a side of Pakistan that doesn't often get coverage. It would be better if this was done "off season", when Pakistan is not in the headlines, too.

Well-done photo essays make the people affected by a story like this real for readers and help bring it home. One has to add a word of caution about the (necessary) limitations of a presentation like this.

Audiences, especially in the US and the West, need to know more about what's happening on the Pakistani political scene than we get in simplistic "pro-Taliban" vs. "pro-US" story lines.
