This story gives good details of the possible effects of cuts on a specific area, high speed rail. I do not know how much I trust this analysis, as much of it is hearsay.

Winner-Take-All Politics: How Washington Made the Rich Richer -- And Turned Its Back on the Middle Class | Books
This is not journalism, its a book. One with an agenda I agree with, but I would not call it a news journalism article or even an opinion journalism article, as it is a book.
This is not journalism, it is a wikipedia article. It is very interesting, but definitely not journalism.
Doesn't go into details at all, which I think makes it not very good journalism. Where are the specific areas of cuts? where are the specific areas of tax reductions it mentions?
This article quotes several studies and presents them as scientific consensus. This is not necessarily the case, although the points such as mercury poisoning and 6000 coal mining deaths in china are very well made.
Good article. 1) Great topic choice. 2) Thorough fact collection, including maps, pricing, and relevant parties involved. Con No speculative date of introduction.
This article has very little substance. There are no details as to the specifics of the map. Even the quoted complaints about the map are vague and non-informative. The associated picture is clearly not the map, a link or picture of the actual districts map would I think be necessary for an informative article.
A solid piece on somebody who desires to be influential to the future course of the city. Well researched and written.
