This article accentuates the fact that humans need to acknowledge the effects of our actions on the environment. Habitats need to be preserved and saved and humans need to realize that we are not the only ones on this planet. It would be helpful if notebooks and plants could be put on the endangered species list but there is only so much that that can do.

It is good to know that the air on earth is becoming cleaner but that doesn't mean that we need to stop our efforts. There are still alot of things happening that are bad for the environment, inclusing smog from factories, deforestation, carbon emissions. We are one the right track but not out of the woods yet and we wont be for awhile.

This is an example of why species are having to be reintroduced in places in the world. Humans are encroaching on the animals territory, territory that has been theirs for thousands of years before humans claimed it. Through human interaction, sea turtles, wolves, cougars, bears, any and almost every animal is facing species destruction due to humans. It is time for the "higher" species to step up and bring the world back into balace.

I think that the killing of wolves is wrong. This article brings to light the debate of whether or not predators numbers should be artificially controlled rather than let nature take its course. As stated at the end of the article, the state and federal agencies aim to reduce the wolf population through the means of human intervention where as the park service believes that nature should be able to take its course. I'll admit, it is important to keep a natural balance of predator and ... More »

This article talks about the water shortage in California this year. It is informative and tells of the problems that are being faced by the water shortage. It is important to know about the shortages that are happening in the west because the farms that are dealing with the shortage are being hit hard. The state is trying to help them but there is only so much that can be done. As the situation that is happening currently happened last year, it should be a pirority for next year and ... More »

This is an interesting video to watch. It does explain what is happening in Nevada but there is a biase towards the BLM. If one is to watch this video one should keep an open mind throughout and should do more in depth research if they wish to learn more.

This topic is interesting and informative. I have never truly acknowledged the water crises that occupies the western, dry states because water is so readily available. The fact that Ken Salazar is working to get water to these farmers is very important as their main staple are their crops and keeping the plants alive and healthy is a necessity. The public needs to realize that keeping their laws flawless and green is not as important as the food that they buy at their supermarket. ... More »

I found this article to be interesting and insightful. I had never thought of applying genetic modification to trees but the goal that is presented in this article makes sense. The article holds facts and views for and against allowing genetically modified trees in the South and informs the reader of the benefits.

I did not know much about GMO foods and I hadn't realized how large their impact is. This article is a good article because the author is simply siting the facts about GMO not taking a side for or against it. They state the pros and cons of GMO foods and and uninformed reader, like myself, can learn the basics and a bit more about GMO foods.
