I believe reader contributed content has a lot of potential, especially once it gets off the ground, and the sabatours are weeded out. It provides a kind of pulse on what people are concerned about on any given day. The format here is nice because it lets the people decide on the quality of a piece, based on the writing itself, not the ideology. This is where the internet is succeeding, by letting people have direct input into the organization they seek and use to get information. The passiveness of television is a thing of the past. This interaction is also better for buildi9ng brain power. Anyone can sit somewhere and be a TV antenae, but this actually requires a little critical thinking. The only danger lies in the powers that be trying to regulate through capitalistic means (regulate to get a piece of the consumer pie) or moralistically( we all know how that works out) The internet must remain free and clear from all molestation and infection of these forces. This is truly power for the people, so everyone fight any attempt to change this. We are all adults, and i for one, don't need any other adult deciding for me what is and isnt appropriate, and the minute you start pricing time on the net, this immediatly destroys the equality of service, whichwill lead to only the rich , and groups of people with an agenda, will but up all the time slots, and poof, end of freedom, end of everything.. The internet will turn into one big cesspool of lobbyists and wackos , like one big lo0ng presidential campaign that never ends.

To a point. There is only one side of the story presented so far, but it raises some serious issues.

I am outraged by another obvious case of police reacting in a completely inappropriate manner, and being officially exonerated of any wrongdoing. This is ridiculous and the City of Galveston should be held accountable for this despicable action.

Good solid journalism. A little more science might help the article in the context of the magazine, but very readable, and hopefully helpful to people with that affliction.

It is journalism, and it is an interesting look at the kind of person Sarah Palin is.

I like these kinds of alternate stories. It isnt breaking news , or even that important, but it does reveal more of the character of sarah Palin. Sometimes, its the little things that make a sdifference in trying to understand or at least get an idea of what someone is all about

This is an issue that won't go away. I question this business about Acorn coming up all of a sudden right before the election. It's as if the Republicans are trying to distract us while the "real" voter fraud goes on. Any careful study of what happened in the 2000 and 2004 elections wouls shock and surprise a lot of people. So many voters were disenfranchised over petty and even illegal rules and regulations. Yes, even 2004 was stolen. Study the Ohio results very carefully. That was ... More »

Excellent piece. This covers who Joe Biden is in a clear, succint way, and also analyzes the pros and cons of an Obama, Biden ticket.
