The article gave both sides to the issue as well as observing that Obama totally flipped his opinion on the issue of government transparency.

I very much agree that Obama flip flopped on the moral issue of having a transparent government as opposed to being sneaky and hiding even what is known. When the first photos were issued there was reform in the military behavior of prisons. While it is possible that the remaining photos will back up the rumors of sodomy of children and abuse of women as described in letters published in Arab newspapers of a woman in American run prisons, and people will become more angry, the ... Although there were videos of it and its results, as well as stories from Palestinian news sites and from Aljezera right after the white phosphorous was dropped, there was little in the American news it seems. This article is quite cautious in the story and this seems to be the way Americans like it.

This story is quite old as there were articles from the Palestinian press and Aljazera as well as videos of the bombing and the people who were bombed as well as photos of the canisters, immediately after the white phosphorous was dropped by Israel, but better late for Americans than never. It bothers me that people have not been outraged about this and all the atrocities committed and still being committed ever this week, by Israel, with the full support of The United States.

This article is straight news on an issue that has recieved very little attention from the media and it was good to finially see it. Impeachment appears to be a word only used by the media if it has to do with sex, so this article is a breath of freash air. The article briefly gave an overview of the efforts of Dennis Kucinich to do the duty that many more members of the Congress should be doing and that is to be the watchdosg rather than the lap dogs of the President.

The article gave a good number of examples of McCain's opinions concerning Iran and the continued justifications for oppression of the Palestininas, as well as his hawkish views concerning starting an unprovoked war on the people of Iran all in an effort to sound like he is supporting the Israelis in front of a Jewish audience.

The author makes the point that Obama was mostly mistaken that previous presidnets have been willing to speak to our enemies. I believe that it is a hopeful sign that Obama is willing to not be a frightened little yapping dog like our current President who is too frightened to speak to anyone but his chosen friends.

Quite a good article. The examples given agree with what is so obvious from simple observation, that Causians are extremely prejudiced and racist. Non-pale skined people and non-Christians rightly perceive the dangerously negative attitudes that are certainly hurtful and even life threatening, not to mention causing disadvantages in just living live in US society.

This is an odd article on the none issue of Obama's minister. The only people making an issue of what Rev.Wright said are far right wing raciallly bigoted talk show hosts and this was not mentioned. A poll was mentioned stating that the question had to do with believing that Obama agrees with Wright's statements, but it was worded as anti-American. It is not anti-American to say that the government was involved in the 9-11 event or that there may eb deliberate non-action in helping prevent HIV AIDS in minority communities. The article is obviously biased from a right wing racist viewpoint.

The non story about Wright has been blown totally out of proportion by the media. It is nice to see that someone else has noticed. The real stories are the dishonesty of the media and the difference of views of Black Americans and what appears to be the views of a large number of Caucazoidal Americans, or maybe they are the bitter prejudiced Americans who do not realize that there is major discrimination in this country.

Interesting information that I had not been aware of in what has been an odd "issue", at least on the hate talk radio shows concerning Obama's minister. The exerpts I have heard of Rev. Wright's words have for the most part seemed pretty obvious observations of the United States and the behavior of people. I am saddened that Obama is playing along with the hate talk racists and rejecting everything Wright said. The fact that it is even an issue shows how much racism there is in this country.

This is an interesting piece of cheery propaganda. Under the photo, the caption suggests that the bridge is goig to be widened, but then we discover that they are just thinking aobut widening only the pedestrian parts of the bridge that the United States destroyed when we nearly flattened the entire city and dropped the napal-like substance called white phospherous on the people who stayed to protect their homes and businesses or were too poor to be able to be refugees in the desert so wee could blow up their city. We are only planning to help rebuild the city, and this makes a good Story since we have fewplans to do much rebuilding of what we destroyed, for as we were told, "We are not in Iraq to engage in nation-building — ... Most people in the United States just do not understand the situation in Palestine when we helped to set up Israel and evict all the people who lived there, and although it is not mentioined, the US continues to give Israel more money than any other country in the world every year which gives the US a bid image because of our policies. This article gives a brief review of what happened and helps to explain why the issue of all these people being displaced continues to be at the root of all the misery of the Palestinians and the negative perceptions of the United States because of our unfair policies of supporting Israel.

Al Jazera has historically been the source to go to for balanced reporting. This story follows the story that has evolved over the past couple years and if one has been watching it is just as they reported. The United States has continually tried to make life difficult for the democratically elected government of Palestine and publically supported Fatah and the Israelis and treated Hamas as if they had somehow stolen the election, which all observers stated was fair and democratic. It is well known that Hamas just lobs primitive bombs over the border with no idea where they will land in retaliation for the atrocities committed by the Isralis on the Palestinian population, while Israel uses computer controlled US made weapons ... With it being the Wall Street Jounal, which has a high degree of public trust, I find that these amazing statistics are probably true. If one watches television or reads the paper, it is easy to see why the perception of the occupation of Iraq is going well. There is no information about the bpeple who are displaced or living in refugee sites or having family members abducted or blown up, or driven crazy with mental illness from the stress, which continues every day. There is no news on the way citizens of Iraq are coping with no clean water or little or no electricity and no sewage or garbage services. If we do not see stories about the people who are surviving through this horror, and only get a few statistics of how ... More »

The article gave more than one side of the story, but it seemed a little incomplete. I wish that there had been mention of Nancy Pelosie's visit to Dennis's office and promise to make sure Dennis got re-elected to his Congressional seat if he backed off the impeachment issue, and Dennis's telling her to leave his office had been mentioned in the story about the sudden campaign against him that forced him to leave the Presidential bid. It would have given readers a more complete reason why he suddenly had a high priced campaign against him.

I wish I could have had this article back in the 1960's to show an ingorant English teacher who criticized my writing because I had other species thinking in my stories. The unfairness and ignorance of that teacher has continued to bother me because I knew she was totally wrong and my work was wrongly graded. It is humans who are lacking because, for the most part, we do not know how to even try to understand other species language.

Obama is a good speaker and a motivatioinal speaker. i heard him this last Thursday and the article was like a review of what I observed, except there was not so much of the stupid chanting this article wasted time on. As described in the article, there was not so much specific information like Dennis Kucinich always did, but then Dennis has been excluded and did not waste most of the time on motivational rheteric like has been so successful for Obama. Even so, after hearing him and after reading the article, I am reinforced that I chose the better candidate yesterday in Nebraska by voting for Obama.

The story is frightening because of the depths of how far our government and specifically one administration can go in eroding the freedom of the people of the United States. The United States is currently abusing and humiliating the people of Falujha in Iraq by forcing them to have to submit to the iris scans when they come and go to their own town. The government could easily do this to us if we allow this. Unfortunately we have already allowed the passage of the National ID law, and outrageous humilating searches that a few years ago nearly everyone would have objected to. All they have to do is frighten the majority of people who are mostly uninformed about the world and they will willingly submit to any humiliation.

The article makes some good points. It is interesting the the former persidential candidate, Dennis Kucinich was saying very similar things, though noone of the news outlets every reported on what he was saying. One point left out is that the United States had a quota of essentially 5000 unskilled workers perrmitted to come per year per the world. This was totally unreasonable and with the temptation of all the work, anyone in his/her right mind and caring about supporting their families risked their lives to come here, documents or no.

Thank goodness for Amy Goodman and Democracy Now to give America an opportunity to hear a view that the majority of media sources are trying extremely hard to silence. Dennis (He who the Media shall never mention) Kucinich is a refreshing voice which the majority of Americans have not been permitted to hear. The differences between Kucinich and the three media favorites have not been allowed to be shown much so far in this presidential race, so it was good that Democracy Now made this short opportunity for Dennis to answer the same topics the other three Democratic candidates spoke on in the debate. It would have also been nice if more time had been given to Dennis Kucinich to tell more of his views.

The topic of all the hatred toward immigrants is a very important and timely topic, especially since the economy is not doing well because of the deficit. Hate talk radio, Republicans and fundamentalist Christians have spurred on the public hatred of immigrants. All the fear nd hatred is causing them to push for laws that will ultimately bring very difficult times for our country. Two paragraphs say it all: Some businesses and lawmakers are warning that the economic effects will hit consumers hard. Having a smaller pool of workers for certain jobs will cause delays and create competition among employers, leading them to raise wages and prices, Davis and others say. Republican state Rep. Shane Jett, who opposed 1804, offers ... More »

A good review and assessment of the reporting by Dhar Jamail, a true American hero. I have been reading Dhar's blog and reports since 2003. I saw the photos he posted of the people our troops burned to death from wht it turned out was white phospherous, but at the time he and doctors thought was napalm. I read his reports of wht actual Iraqis were saying, including seeing the photos he took of them and posted on his site. His reporting is exactly opposite of the so called mainstream reporters who seldom, if ever give us names of Iraqis or tell their stories. A couple weeks after his book, "Beyond the Green Zone" came out, I went to Borders, but they did not even have it, though I was able to order it. I was good to finially ... More »

There should have been more coverage of Gavel and Kucinich if this was telling about the candidates. It is important that if we are going to vote for someone, that we havev more of an opportunity to know a little more of what they actually are proposing. It was good that it told enough about Clinton and Obama that we know from the article that they do not have much to say, but an awful lot of the article talked about them, giving the impression that the media thinks what they say is important. There should have been several paragraphs on what Gravel and Kucinich said. There was way too much on Edwards wife, which really has nothing to do with the what the candidates views and wastes space in the article which cold have been used ... More »

This story was very poor journalism because it said that there were 7 candidates and then for most of the story only talked about Clinton, Obama, Edwards and Richardson. Almost at teh very end it said, Representative Dennis J. Kucinich of Ohio offered the most sweeping proposal, to create “a universal, single-payer not-for-profit health care system providing Medicare for all.” The most sweeping proposal seems to me to be the most important one because we need Universal Health care, but we got nothing about Kucinich's ideas. If it was the most sweeping, why was it not at the top and given several paragraphs? This article is as bad as nearly every article covering the candidates. They all seem to think there are only basically ... More »
