The main problem with this article is the premise that Russia conducted a military offensive into Georgia. They went into Georgia to punish Georgia's ragtag army who were harrassing the South Ossetians and North Ossetians who did not want to secede from Russia in the first plance. No one ever mentions that Gori, the strategic crossroads town that the Russian troops took, was Stalin's birthplace. My my, how quickly we all forget. Also, there's no discussion, even "B" copy background on this volatile area and recent history.
