The author states his analysis (mostly) and opinion (a lil bit) re the important elements of this news event: political reaction to the decision, the NSA's prime defensive arguments for their wiretapping, and the specific areas of constitutional and congressional law and governance transgressed, deftly supported by several brief quotes from the written opinion of Judge Anna Diggs Taylor of the United States (Eastern) District Court. I like that he wrote in language and structure that most high school voter candidates can grasp firmly through any media spin. To keep his journalistic stance objective, Mr. Rothschild gave readers two direct source links to access the full 44 page opinion.

Member (since May 2006)I've been a social worker for almost 20 years, and 'legacy' is my study of journalism as I ripen mid career and age. I was born into a family of survivors, with American Indian, Scottish and African-American as my first cultural legacy in the world community. My generation of baby-boomers strikes me as an ecological linchpin of consciousness in American & World 'development' since my childhood : we knew a relatively publicly owned/responsive news media, when radio then television preceded the internet desktop to 'show' our voice as community. I joined Newstrust to access and contribute to journalistic integrity, with the voice of my experience and a heart of gratitude to the community making Newstrust.

I felt this journalist gave an excellent grasp of the different Muslim populations and political interface from a generational point of view. Although I wanted to see or hear from a younger woman as well as the middle generation, the story suggests - without drama - that this might not have been easily achieved. I appreciated the detailed history this writer offered about Hezbollah, describing an organization evolving effectively across complex sociopolitical and cultural terrain in a manner adaptive to both it's constituents and it's location. I'll look for this journalists work.
I appreciated the author's concise visual clarity in connecting the dots to overview the persistent tactical progress of the NSA as a military entity with an innocuous civilian face, i.e. funding academic research. Journalistic integrity presented a good balance of factual information, sufficient to educate the average lay reader in the terms and goals of the scientific field being explored, with possible applications of the information gainst civil liberties, referenced against historical precedent since 9/11.
This article was well written and to the point, for a quick read with choice information to support any reader to explore and educate themselves independently on network neutrality and current congressional yields. I respect journalists who educate with this level of integrity, in tandem with the authors' clearly stated politics.
