The Boston Globe did an excellent job of bringing to light the rarely-discussed issue of early onset Alzheimer's and its effect on one local family. There is an excellent blend of expert sources and anecdotal characters in this article. The article puts the reader in the scene and isn't a "cut and dry"news piece. It puts a human face on a little known issue. I also like how the Globe incorporated a multimedia aspect to this piece (the video is present right in the article).
This article was extremely concise, if not very in-depth. I feel as though much more background information about the alleged rape would have added more context to the story The lead was extremely weak and almost caught me off guard in its abruptness. I do like how the article has a sidebar of information on rape in South Africa, which does provide some much needed context to the story. If they perhaps incorporated those statistics into the article, I feel the piece would have been much more informative.
This article does a good job of presenting the opinion of lawmakers on the widely criticized pat downs that will be implemented by the TSA. While there isn't a wide spectrum of sources who contributed to the article, the quotes USA Today used were in depth and informative. There was plenty of background information which made the reader aware of not just the opinion of lawmakers, but also dispensed information about the new safety procedures that are taking place.
In their usual fashion, Fox news has taken a blatantly biased stance on the issue at hand. thus compromising the integrity of the article. The article is well written, but is not a fair representation of the material. I would not recommend this article to anyone looking for a fair account of the Wikileaks situation.
This article encompassed both factual and anecdotal reporting. While it could go into greater depth, it covers the story's most essential information effectively. And, it meets the Who cares? threshold for an audience that might struggle to relate to a story about a disease that doesn't affect Americans in a place far away.
