I'm a critical(and cynical) news junkie and really intrigued by the NewsTrust concept. I am flattered to be invited and will endeavor to behave. The largest part of my day is spent working as a Physical Therapist. I talk to all kinds of different people every day. My background gives me some advantage in the critique of health/medical related news. I reside in Eugene, OR with my patient wife and wary son.

Good interview in terms of getting it "from the horse's mouth". Tell me again why this interview will most likely not appear in the US domestic media.

The author has distilled complex concepts, added some historical perspective, stirred in some common sense and arrived at a savory view of of a world economy in transition with the US dollar on the outside looking in.

Good, slightly breezy set of questions and answers that I think many consumers have been formulating in their own minds. It would be nice to see some projections about the use and relative cost of solar power 20-30 years out. Further it would be nice to see some comparisons of the total costs of oil and coal and that dirty schlub shale oil.

It's entertaining. It's Taibbi getting his Gonzo on. This is a good airplane read, you could look around and try to guess which of your fellow passengers or maybe the pilot are among the anointees.

Shrill? Polemic? True? The piece is thought provoking and as I read it this Monday morning I feel so tired. With a nod to Lou Reed: "Stick a fork in it, it's cooked."

Effective in creating an image of( to borrow the NYTimes term) "Clintonism". As an editorial it provides supporting documentation and perhaps captures the mood of the large, on-the-fence subset of Democrats and Independents.

Mr. Hirschorn clearly is irritated by Ron Paul and his supporters. As an op-ed writer he can slop together facts and opinion to make his case. It is the antithesis of journalistic objectivity. Only 12% of the eligible caucasers in Iowa caucused, to conclude much of anything applicable to the national picture is a stretch. As I have predicted previously, as Ron Paul's numbers rise his detractors will become louder and more vociferous.

The big picture story from FactCheck and similar services is that many(most?) politicians spin, embellish, fabricate and BS all the time. It can reasonably be argued that some of the facts presented in this piece are not all that important, but an impartial purveyor of facts is a valuable resource during these dark days of the national campaigns.

No nonsense summary of the current domestic financial morass. I found it refreshingly non-partisan, given it's source. Frequently articles of this type contain so much data and statistics that a reader can either choose to accept these as fact or skim over them. This piece is more of an overview and interested readers can flesh out the details with data from any number of sources.

It's mushy journalism. What does the author mean by "hard wired"? It's a term borrowed from neurophysiology and, it's use to describe income distribution is, in a word, a leap. After a fairly captivating introduction the piece meanders and finally finishes with the hard wired supposition. What was the point?

Well written and well sourced. It shines a light on another elephant in the living room of greenhouse gas producers and is actually educational without scolding. One small quibble: Daily newspapers are used as sources in this piece. I think that these sources should be quoted as opinion and not presumed to be accurate as a source of data. In other words go to the original source.

Is it porn for liberals? Is it that darn liberal media again? Is it factual? Is it spun? Is it anecdotal? The real frustration is not knowing whether the information is accurate, in context and without a political spin. It is interesting, but on it's own without corroborating information falls in to the "hold" box.
