Besides a writing style that makes you want to read much, much more yet the author's name is absent from the page, this observation is intriguing. Comparing the Nazi Olympics held in Berlin to showcase Hitler's vision and the soon-to-kick-off Beijing Olympics held to showcase the emerging economic juggernaut that China promises to be brings today's events into historical perspective. The new light gives the reader reason to think about just what and why we as a people give so much focus to the events.

It's time we get the facts above the looks of the reporter. It's time we stop the bias and blatant propaganda that is passing for news today. I can do that. And HuffPost is giving me the perfect forum!

About time someone took on the Big Media connection to the hate radio rants. While the heads of the Big Media are sitting at their private country clubs, whipping up support for less control of their product, their employees are spewing forth the kind of nonsense outlined in this article. Very few stories are addressing this. Please read and think about this.
This isn't a story..it's an unsourced timeline with misspellings! OMG...why would this even be posted anywhere? The topic - impeaching Bush and Cheney and why it is not happening - is FAR too important to be given this sad attempt. I have read The Smirking Chimp and they have many fine articles. This is not one.
Tackling an issue head-on and showing both the Dem and GOP view is always a good subject, and this story brings in poll results to not show public opinion instead of being focused on just experts. Nice touch.
As much as I want to embrace this story, and as well balanced as they presented it, there's more to the oil reserve question than was covered, and therefore made me hesitant to feel this was some breakthrough in th oil picture.
This newspaper is owned by Freedom Communications, which owns TV stations in medium markets across the country. None of their news operations are of note, and they have a distinct right lean to them. I know their news directors. This story was quite good and important. I wish the writer would have sourced what Huff Post article the anti-McCain group was referring to. Or have said that they did not source their allegation about illegal aliens with drivers licenses.
Taking stats and weaving them into an interesting story that can be read by both marketing pros and non-pros alike...excellent! I wish there had been a hint of overall TV spending projections...that's the only thing left out.
No attempt was made to give examples of "cheney trying to push through" or anything else. I love this paper, but this story, though well written, is rather an op-ed. No attempt was cited to reach anybody in the American admin, which says to me that no attempt was made and the story wasn't really for information but for their point of view. Pity...it could have been extremely strong. It does show that McCain would benefit, but overall, it's a McBush article as far as McCain is concerned.
Exit polls have been failing rapidly for news organizations, and it bothers me a great deal that this well written story does not identify ANY exit poll organizations. Having worked with polling organizations to report election results, I know that some are more reputable than others, and knowing which polls she refers to would be a much better journalistic asset.
It might have been a nice touch to see if the Telco's are contributing to McCain. How much...has that $ become more since the flip-flop?
The writer doesn't know much about ad placement or frequency of message, which are both elemental in an on-air TV campaign. The comparisons of amounts spent from W in 2004 and McCain now appears to show a small McCain war chest emptying itself earlier for TV spots. Nice to have some info on prime time placement and perhaps if there were a comparison between the cost of an ad in 04 and now to see if it's in line.
This is a good story that has limits due to the sensitive nature of it all - and it makes it hard to write so you don't have lawyers on your neck. I'd like to have seen some figures about the cost of making the profit, even estimates. And I'd like to know more about jet fuel and whether this is the best mode of transport for it. The McCain connection in this story reinforces the fact he's on the take with lobbyists and the like
What a disappointing article. Where did McCain speak? To what audience? What was the crowd reaction? Who was the veteran? Did the speech sound better than the wretched writing of this story? The basics of journalism aren't even here. Sad.
Could not review...story is just the first two graphs. They want to have readers buy a membership to read...This should not be listed as a story to review.
