Out of the four articles, I reviewed, I think was my least favorite and represented average journalism. The story might have been well written and provided some facts, but it did not go into much detail. The reporter only provided two quotes, which were very short and were not elaborate. Additionally, I don't really think this article to a conclusion. It just left me asking wondering what was going to happen with the future of energy.
I like how the author was unbias while reporting this and didn't really exaggerate his pride for America. This clearly would be a great thing to happen in America, but the author steers clear of perhaps offending non-American readers. He highlighted a lot of company names to show what they are doing and gave a lot of facts and figures to prove his point.
I think this is a great example of good journalism due to its sources and graphs. We always hear about the corrupted city of Baltimore but never really have facts to back it up. This article sources reputable people including a professor and Biostatistician. It mentions the progress of the researchers' work and writes about what is in store for drugs in the city. The maps that you can choose to enlarge also make a great addition. They also have sources on the bottom of them, proving to the reader that they are reputable maps.
I thought this was definitely good journalism and had a lot of merit and high quality writing to it. Not only did they provide a multimedia video but they also showed pictures and had a lot of sources. The reporter also went into further detail by explaining the background of the story. I also like how he complemented the story with Gigi Barnett and ended the article by showing what's in store for the future.
I thought it was very insightful but not very informative. He did not really do a good job of providing a source and he kind of just focused on bashing the Republicans the entire time and not providing follow up.
I don't think this reporter really did his research because he could have added a lot more facts and statistics and added more detail. He kind of just took different quotes from various newspapers instead of doing his own reporting. He also could have went into further detail in explaining Obama's opinion on illegal immigration and maybe have gotten a quote from him. This was more of a research paper to me that consisted of a reporter putting together quotes, rather than doing his own journalism work. I also thought it was strange that he ended the article talking about how Obama will return to Washington to face the agenda of health and energy reform. How does that have to do with illegal immigrants? What's his future plan with that topic?
I think they provide good insight and are informational. However, they should give more examples and explain more what decoupling is. They should also have user comments and quotes from people explaining what they did.
