The author lays out this article in easy to read language. More like a short conversation. Graphics are well-used. There is a lot more going on as to why oil is what it is, but the article sufficiently covered the main idea of a small piece of the oil picture. Statistics,, graphs, and charts can be used in many convincing ways as we well know.
Journalism at its best. It gives all the information required of the viewer in terms that are easily understood.
This appears to be a blog from Big Oil rather than informative journalism. It misses the big issues, such as: the fact that we (at least in the USA) are still living in the throes of a "frontier hangover;" the fact that Big Oil has such a strangle hold on world finances, that they have never had to internalize the external cost of doing business; the fact that Big Oil has monopolized the lobbying to keep windfall profits from being taxed to support alternative energy. Where 80-90% of vehicles on the road have only one person in them, one person, one horse, that's a frontier hangover. This article made no reference to usage patterns, and other useful information regarding CTL that might have rounded out this short discussion.
The author covered the bases, bringing a somewhat detail of the wishes of the players and speculation on the results of certain actions. Considering the source of corporate ownership, the author kept several points of issue that are fact out of the article, no doubt to keep his job or get a pay warrant.
This is straight reporting journalism. Good factual sourcing and laid out in an informative way. I'd like to mention here that many of the revues I have seen for NewsTrust.net do not report based on journalistic point of vue, but from personal opinion. More care should be taken to keep these responses out of the revue area and might better be placed in a comment area. Whether the article is anti-semitic or not is not the point of a revue.
