This topic is relevant as the nation is moving toward implementing the Common Core standards and revising No Child Left Behind. How Americans produce a more competitive workforce is relevant to all citizens, and as a teacher, it is relevant to know how Maryland moves forward on this bill. The article is also good because it presents all side equitably. All stakeholders voices were presented and the journalist gave no personal opinions, letting the reader draw their own conclusions.
