I'm a big fan of the underdog! The last 8 years in the US have been a
car wreck, and I refuse to look away and not do anything!!
I lost my favorite job to a hostile takeover by Fox Broadcasting..
In a prior life, I've worked for folks like Pink Floyd, Prince,
and some God Awful but really fun bar bands across the US. I've
lived in Asia, Middle East, E. Europe when it was still communist
and more fun without all the tourists. Now residing safely and
very happily on Vancouver Island in Beautiful B.C. Canada where
I actually have health coverage..

A brief, but good look at at least to me, is an unknown possible candidate. The article does well at stating the obvious: Some in the GOP see him as their "Obama", even though some interviewed say that's not the case. Also, they don't hide any of the warts, i.e. he's for "intelligent design", etc. Good, informative, and balanced article.

Not much new here, other than showing that Mr. McCain, against some of his own prior policy, has aligned himself with the same group of completely untrustworthy "experts" that have gotten the US into this mess in Iraq! How could anyone take Mr. Kristol seriously anymore in regards to foreign policy?! So, even though the story is biased in making the point that McCain has aligned with this dubious brain trust, it fails to do anything to promote McCain's stance as an "agent for change". with a population that is now putting these names together with their blunders!

Well, for a short piece, it makes the point, and has the numbers to back it up.. I give it an 8, good beat, easy to dance to.. Seriously though, there's not much to get worked up over, most folks know these numbers and understand that there's hardcore holdout's of The Right that won't talk to anyone regardless if it would do any good. The number of 51 percent opposed is a bit sad though..

Being an ex-Minnesotan, "The Strib" has always been a reasonable source for news, i.e. they are usually fair, and give both sides of the story. They could be accused of having a Left lean, but that's more a reflection of Minnesota and esp. Minneapolis's lean to left politics, so they know who they serve. I think it's a typical piece for them, more balanced than if you were to go outside of the Midwest.

It's an ok piece, but it only shows a small slice of the Native American story. The timing is good though in regards to the S. Dakota primaries, and hopefully there would be some follow up with the tribes of the Dakota's. It's a difficult story as in other cases where the Casino's have come to the reservations, this has helped to raise them out of poverty, but at what cost? I'd like to see some of that as part of this story.

This story def. has a McCain bias, although they have done a good job of burying it within the information provided. They have gone to extremes to use the best of McCain's bio, without any recent study of his gaffes, etc. And does very little to support his "Maverick" reputation which is his main theme for this election. What little of value said of Obama is not worth analyzing.

Obama says yes, and that President George W. Bush’s refusal to do so has made some global problems worse. McCain calls Obama’s position naive and dangerous. More »
