Cole's article counters the administration's spin quite effectively. Cole refers us to his article in Salon from May, 2005, "The lies that led to war." The earlier article reviewed extensive, authoritative evidence of Bush's fixation on Iraq.

The story would have better impact if it did not make an unsupported assertion-- an assertion entirely separable from its main point. For example, "According to the Johns Hopkins ..., George Bush's lies have killed..." Some people (those who need to read this story, in my opinion!) might well stop reading at the word "lies."
