The article states some numbers of financial transactions. The article make some assumptions as to what the money was used for, if they have hard evidence that there is a direct link it should have been stated. They did give Gov. Richardson the right to comment, but he declined.

I believe it is necessary for all people who are in close relationships with public officials to be open about their contacts and resources. Government officials need to hold themselves to higher standards when it comes to showing they are above undue influence. If President Clinton was not affiliated with the government anymore through his wife or anyone else he would not need to disclose this information.
