I'm relieved to read that "science dectives" are "quantifying the impact activities on climate." The data, called human fingerprints, being uncovered by meterologists and oceangraphers suggest that humans are to blame in part for untoward changes in our oceans and atmsosphere. Since humans are the "main drivers" of global warming emissions released in the air that sustains our existence and all living things this report ends with several recommendations to slow down the rising levels of warming: improve energy efficiency, increase the use of renewable energy, and go slow on deforestation. This report offers detailed cohesive evidence, visuals along with a biblography if you want to check out the sources.

Now, if only The US print and electronic mainstream media could take the lead from Agence France Press and begining taking into account, on a routine basis what the world press is reporting. For far too long the dumbed-downed American audiences are hearing and reading only corporate and government propganda. I'm getting mighty weary of paraochical American chauvinism. We do we have to wait for 9/11 anniversaries to get news from global media.

We are presented in this article mostlywith Novak's spin. I would like to know much more about why Novak hasn't yet been charged with violating the Intelligence Identities Protecton Act rather than his CIA and White House source(s). We need to see more investigative knowledgable reporting and less regurgitating of old TV news.

It's always refreshing to read wahy the wealthiest ”give away" their money. And it was especially interesting to note that the late Susie Buffet had played a major role in getting Warren to part with his fortune. In a related story, a few weeks earlier Bill and Melinda Gates announced to the world that tehy were giving away half of his $50 billion to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, becoming the richest endowment in history. It was reported at the time that Melinda had to some some arm twisting to loosen Bill's grip on Microsoft's riches. Nevertheless, not since the days of the 19th century robber barrons Ford, Carnegie, and Rockefeller have we seen anything like this.the prospects of millions may now depend on the ... More »

This story is mostly anecdotal and incidental. I prefer more detail on the alleged cave-in by the FDA to White House pressure. The public needs to know the extent of religious influence on political decison making.

The Corporate media has ignored more than a few major newsworthy stories that, if they had been reported when they occurred or found out, could of shed much needed light on the alleged misdeeds of the Bush adminstration. Mr Savage represents the sort of investigative journalist the Ameican readership is sorely in need of.

Juan Cole is an especially well qualified to comment on any issue coming out of the near and middle east.Blog Comments may or may not be factual. But accuracy is not a criterion for reading or particiapting in blogs. Blog comments give us only opinion and so that we can get a sense of what well informed adults are thinking.
