I really enjoyed this article. First of all, the headline really caught my attention and is the reason I gave the story a look. Having so many authoritative sources really allowed me to see that these additions to the Inner Harbor are actually possible. I learned a lot and felt like there was a sufficient amount of background information. While informal and fairly abrupt, it was interesting to see the different additions that are being considered.

I found this story to be very interesting. The author used many credible references which helped me believe what the author had to say. It was nice to know that plans are being developed and Maryland wants to lead the way. However, I can only wonder if Maryland got an extra pat on the back because of the publication.

I apologize, I don’t have time to reread the article at this time. In the beginning of the article, it states that Maryland, D.C., and five other states will be involved with the Bay’s “diet.” While it makes sense to focus on Maryland’s involvement, ... More »

I thought this was a well-written story and provided some very authoritative sources. The statistics helped me better understand what the author was trying to say. I liked that the author included things about future projections and past decisions to make sure the reader is informed.

I was intrigued by this story and was interested throughout. I felt like some of the sentences, especially the lead, were wordy. I would have liked to hear from one of the workers that was arrested, so hopefully a follow-up can be done about that.

I enjoyed reading this story. I was slightly aware but highly uneducated on the issue and I learned a lot in this story. I think the author did a nice job making the story personal, but also attempting to retrieve multiple sides of the story. There were a lot of statistics that supported the author's claims. I was impressed by the amount of sources the author quoted and the expert they included.

This story kind of lacked any in depth information or analysis. It was probably meant to be a small update in a bigger picture story about the slots. The author jumps right into the story about the legal issues behind the slots. He provides the readers with an authoritative source but the lack of length in the article left me wanting to know more. I felt like once the author got his point across he just ended the article instead of covering it from other angles.

The lead confused me because the story completely switches topics. As the reader, you expect a story about the Obama's visit to Martha's Vineyard, but the story immediately changes topics and talks about illegal immigrants. Even with a lead that shouldn't be for this story, the writer doesn't support their actual dtory with any statistics or credible sources. It would have been nice to know an actual number of illegal immigrants, or have a quote from an authority figure. I feel like this was a poor example of good journalism. To say the least, the story needs a headline, a lead that better fits with the rest of the story and more supporting evidence.

This was a well-written piece. The author managed to provide the reader with statistics and other data that provided credibility and allow the reader the better understand the situation. I liked that the author included where the money from slots is going to go.

I didn't think this was good journalism because, as stated by many before me, it's hearsay. The topic would be interesting there was actually a story. The only quote was from Councilman Nicholas C. D'Adamo and that didn't present anything we didn't know.

I really enjoyed reading this article and listening to the story. I feel like the author did a great job writing in language that anyone could understand. The article was extremely informative, and I had no idea that was going on in the Southwest. The only thing I would have liked to see was a quote from a city official representing the other side of the story.

This was a fairly well-written story. I thought that the sources used were very credible, but the story could have used one or two more. I thought that the author did do a good job at including a quote from Governor from Martin O'Malley.

I read the story and went to the second page expecting more, but was disappointed by only seeing a bibliography. I enjoyed how the author compared putting casinos in Maryland to those in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia. I thought the statistics added another element to the story, but the abrupt ending confused me and I feel like the author could have included much more to story.

I enjoyed this piece and learned a lot about what TFA is doing to help. I was at times overwhelmed by all of the numbers, but I do feel like they help add credibility and show that research was done. It was lengthy but informative and their were personal examples.

I enjoyed this article, but I felt like it wasn't long enough. The author covers some interesting points regarding the possible tax situations but doesn't go into enough depth. It would have been better journalism if the author would have gotten even more sources to better enforce his message and interviewed more citizens. It would have been interesting to hear from someone who was opposed to the idea of slots at the airport.
