This article is very insightful and truly captures the obstacles that many food vendors face. In addition to concocting delicious treats that must be made affordable to hungry Baltimoreans, those involved in the mobile food system are now required to pay expensive license fees and seek out parking which puts more pressure on their small business. I am curious to see if these new regulations will intimidate future trucks from partaking in what the city has to offer.

Wow, you made a day in the life of a food truck owner sound exhilarating and suspenseful. Dodging restricted parking areas, stealing business from local restaurants and getting banned from serving in some districts - I felt like I was watching an episode of cops. This chase for wandering food junkies seems so extreme and ridiculous. There were great sources throughout the article and the final quote left me feeling optimistic for these truckers. All my questions were answered about the downside of owning a mobile food truck and I learned a lot about the key business features these owners need to keep in mind.

I had no idea that starting a mobile food system is just as expensive as opening a small restaurant. Not to mention the cost of gas, truck maintenance and food/sanitation permits. This is even starting to become popular near my college. Plenty of data was available in the article which gave me a better understanding of the steps that one must take before jumping into a food truck contract. Attributions from owners of successful companies gave good sources, yet I would like to know more information about the required mechanics and mandated FDA inspections for trucks.

I found the results from the research study to be very interesting and current without an extensive amount of "filler". The fact that over half of the study group wants to see more of the mobile food service wasn't all that shocking to me since many foodies prefer a grab and go setting. With market research being so technical, maybe food truck advertisements will earn more rep on television and radio. Self-promotion only brings in so much business.

I loved the details incorporated within the narrative and felt the essence and humor added a sentimental side that I was not expecting. It is quite apparent that a lot of research and interviews took place in order to grasp both the history of Gypsy Queen Cafe and the owner's ideas for new ventures in the food industry. The direct quotes gave factual value to the article, but it was missing some input from their biggest fans, the customers themselves. I also liked how social media (Twitter) was discussed to support how this trend is still evolving.

The subject at hand is quite relevant for many residents living in Baltimore City. I liked how the story incorporated quotes from people that have been affected by abandonment ranging from apparent physical damage to their home as well as having to budget for expensive repairs. My main issue with the lede is that the author did not correctly execute a proper S-V-O relationship which makes it sound like the Malaney's rowhouse breathes air "now heavy with the noxious stink of mold."

The story seems a little biased in which the author makes claims about Mfume without providing enough factual evidence. It also did not keep my full attention.

Great anecdotal lead. It caught my attention and my interest was maintained throughout the entire article. I believe that science education is just as important as any other subject and I can still recall the fun experiments we did in elementary school.

Interesting take on Baltimore's population rate. I think the story would of been more successful with quotes from people living in the downtown district and expert sources.

Overall good coverage of the attack. I feel terrible for the family, but at least the Israeli forces are being proactive.

Very disappointing, but I'm not surprised. Two of my friends applied to be resident assistants at TU due to financial reasons and they were turned down because they could not relate enough to the students. I found this interesting because they were both in the Honors Program and even at the age of 21 they still choose not to drink. My perception of what makes a good RA remains true. I'm curious about the other side of the story because isn't the identification of the students public information?

Moore did a good job providing several relevant cases to back up his idea. I might be a 'broke' college student, but it is reassuring to know that America is not.

The whole concept behind the algorithm change is for the overlooked eyeballing site strategy to advance in terms of SEO. Google was well aware that the proposal would impact nearly 12 percent of search engines and the decrease in Mahalo's site traffic reinforces the fact that we have a hard time differentiating between high and low quality content. While Mahalo is suffering, content farms like DMD (Demand Media) have already seen a significant improvement in their site visits. The ... More »
