This story could use some work. Quotes are important in reporting on issues like illegal immigrants, this story has a quote from what seems like the entire staff of Martha's Vineyard, there is no expert source on this issuse like a police officer stating why illegal immgrants are a problem. This story also uses bias words such as "white" suggesting the entire race and "Brazilian" suggesting the entire nationality. There are also some editing mistakes. It is not clear what the story is about.

This is excellent journalism because Ms. Montgomery does an excellent job in reporting on the issue from both sides from a Democratic and a Republican perspective, she doesn't just show one side. She reports on how some Republicans want more budget cuts and how most Democrats are defending the president's decision. Ms. Montgomery also shows specifically what programs will be cut which shows it's American readers why this is relevant to them, why Americans should be concerned.
I believe that in this article the author does a great job in getting the message, of future plans for Baltimore City, across in an effective way. With the legitimate sources the author lays out specifically what Mayor Rawlings-Blake had pledged to do for Baltimore which kept my interest and influenced me to do further research. Overall Ms. Scharper picked an excellent topic to discuss and I look forward to reading more from her.

Rawlings-Blake calls for "tough choices," new projects in State of the City speech
I believe this article explains the State of the City address in a clear, concise way. Not only did it provide the reader with a variety of different voices, it also broke down what Mayor Rawlings-Blake has in mind for Balitmore. Although the topic of budget cuts and "touch choices" is something I have been hearing about lately, I think this article portrays good journalism.
