Interesting perspective, and very glad to read of the great support of this future parent for her neighborhood charter school. That said, I think there are a huge number of misplaced assumptions about Roots & Branches noted in her article. These same misconceptions have hampered perception of public charter schools since their first existence in 2003. Really good overview of the tough balance between economically feasible agriculture practices and environmental protection. Learned quite a bit about this issue while serving on the Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs committee in the State Senate. Much harder to address than I ever could have imagined, and it's important to remember that chicken farmers want a clean Bay just as much as the rest of us.
Ready for this application to go out to bid. Time to stop the delays and start construction. We should be preparing for table games, as well.
