At least seven sources/groups are used for the short article, it is factual, without the reporter's opinion, indeed it is fact-laden with research into the history of the genetically engineered rice in question as well as a full review of currently available information.

With other examples followed up by interviews, statistics, history, official comment, advocacy group viewpoints-- Catherine Komp and The NewStandard are doing full-power 6-cylinder journalism with this article, and most others at The NewStandard.

In the context of pre-election reporting on the Zapatista Other Campaign from Narco News, a very complete piece. It does provide all viewpoints, allthough not in the formally objective style. The fact that it, almost alone out of many incorrect stories in the establishment media, properly defined a recount as counting the votes again in public (which has not happened yet), and not simply adding up the 130,000 already-counted individual totals, earns it top ranks.
