I thought this was interesting although it didn't offer the detail and analysis that I expected from the lead in. It was well written though and I thoughtn the quotes gave a nice dimensionn to the story.

I thought this was very interesting. This is certainly not a new issue. It enlightened me to the fact that it jhas been exascerbated by the recent financial crisis which was interesting to me. I wasn't aware that there didn't exist a standard method that states measure drop-out rates and I certainly didn't know the rates were so alarming, around 25% for Detroit as measured by the organization America's Promise. In addition I thought it was interesting that majors and city officials were personally visiting kids. This was well written, engaging and I trust the Wall Street Journal. The author has clear agenda in writing this article and the framing suggests this. However the facts seemed to stack up and the historical analysis was conclusive to his argument.
