It used a quote that might imply that the author believes that latinos should just calm down about immigration reform. It seems like it may be biased against latinos who are frustrated about the stalled immigration reform. It sort of makes Obama seem like he is calm about the issue. The author uses a quote that says basically latinos need to stop worrying about getting even with their enemies and sit out of the election, and encourages people to vote because the latinos are going to vote hastily, as the quote seems to imply.
This article calls to attention something that hasn't really been focused on in immigration stories. It reveals that while Native-born Americans are losing jobs in this time of recession, Foreign-born workers are gaining jobs. Also there is a correlation to race and job loss. The people losing the most jobs are non-Hispanic, Native-born workers. Native-born Hispanics also lose jobs, but it is much less a loss than non-Hispanic workers. Also the article describes, vaguely the class of the foreign-born workers through stating the jobs they will take. And the article refers to the Foreign-born workers more desperate.

It offered a really good understanding of the issue that the poverty rate is actually much worse than is reported because it states all the specific ways in which the government doesn’t account for much of the demographic of people living in poverty. 3.
