This article is about citizens human rights being violated. Police in some parts of Brazil are killing people that they believe to be criminals and then reporting that the victims died in a shoot out or tried to resist arrest. This violates human rights on multiple levels. For one, Lying to cover up their wrong actions (which is a big mistake because their is evidence against them), and killing off innocent people that aren't proved to be criminals.
To me, this is quality journalism (minus the unprofessional ads on the side of the article, which doesn't take away from the content, but still.). It is about students in different grades, of all different ages, parents, and teachers chipping in to raise money to build/improve schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan. To raise money, they collected pennies from all over and donated them. This is the type of news I love to hear about, good news.
This is an informative article about land and building development in Thailand. I would recommend this article to anyone that wants to learn more about the development of Thailand. It discusses the act that is used to develop the land and buildings and how it has improved over the years. So far, Thailand is moving in the positive direction of development.
Overall, this was a very interesting article to read. I would have liked it if some of the difficult names that were in the article such as "Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani" or "Abdul Hafeez Shaikh" had some type of parenthesis showing you how to pronounce those names so it could make the reading smoother. I stumbled once I came across all of the names and it distracted me from some of the article. As far as the content of the article, I think it was very informative and straight forward.

I enjoyed reading this article very much. It shines light on the world for me. I always read articles about all of the bad things that is going on in the world, and this article made my heart smile. I welcome anything positive that is going on in this world with open arms because you don't hear much of anything positive anymore.
I enjoyed reading this article because it talked about exposing weaknesses. I do not read many articles about a countries weakness being exposed and them being taken advantage of. My favorite quote from this article is: "But the imbroglio has exposed enough weaknesses inside Ecuador's military establishment to prod Correa into a shakeup this month." This story is very scary and heart breaking. The fact that 10 children and young adults were gunned down makes me question humanity. I would like to learn more about this story. I will do some outside research, this article just covers the main idea.
This is quality journalism because it translates everything that is in spanish to english. It is not biased and it explains something that can concern citizens.
This is quality journalism. It is not biased and it is very factual. Chile is very damaged by this earthquake. There have been many disasters going around the world recently and it is a lot that we can do as a world to improve our economy and improve the state of the places that have been destroyed.
This was quality journalism to some extent. It was very informative about how South America covers national news more than they cover local news. However, it could have been a bit more interesting. It didn't keep my attention the whole way through.
This is quality journalism because it is not biased. It covers several points and uses correct grammar and punctuation. This is also quality journalism because it covers a topic that is worth discussing.

This is an interesting article because it made me curious about which coastal cities should be saved. It is scary yet exciting about how "giant ice cubes" can melt into the ocean and potential flood coastal cities.
This article opened my eyes to plastic use. I was aware that plastic is a huge problem because it never goes away, but I did not know the pacific ocean was drowning in it. I thank this article for opening my eyes. When I read that that there is a garbage patch that is twice the size of France, I was devastated. I feel very disturbed and concerned about the sea birds and mammals that die each year because of this.

In my history class this week, we are focusing on women rights. I believe this article accurately represents women rights because it is about strong female figures. These women stood up for the rights of people in jail. Just because people are jailed, that does not mean they should be mistreated.
