This is more of a historical overview than a real story, but it gives a good background description of important sports integration milestones.
I loved the insight into his life. Sometimes people just take the fact that these are professional athletes as an assumption that their lives were perfect. It's nice to see the in-depth look into their pasts.
While this story doesn't really go above and beyond to show a different storyline, it gives good information about his life. But it's more of a biography.
I liked that the story took a different twist. It wasn't just about O'Ree and how he integrated the league. It was about what he did is still following him.
The story ends up contradicting itself and it is unclear what the point is. The facts are scattered and the overall story doesn't seem relevant or make any sense. There is not nearly enough background information or support of points made.

I wouldn't say that this is the best written piece. Looking over it again definitely would not have hurt. There's a little too much opinion in this article than is necessary and I wouldn't say that it truly adds anything of interest since anyone could just go to John Carlson's player profile and see all the listed stats themselves. Not to mention the fact that it's not exactly relevant since Carlson's been emerging for over half an NHL season now.
