While President Obama has failed the economy, I am not sure why the GOP has issues with President Obama's Defense policy. Seems to me he has kept most of President Bushes policies in place. He in fact, stepped up Drone attacks that should make even the biggest hawk cheer. Seems to me that President Obama also has deported more illegal immigrants than Bush as well. The AP is probably wondering with all the problems with the economy, why would Romney even bring up the Defense cuts (That haven't happened yet)
This opinion piece has a clear agenda to make the right look like they are against giving people the right to vote and use an example that is spurious at best. I have seen stories like this in the AP and Luther news sources that have used similar examples like Ms Dorthy Cooper but never dig to find out who is behind bringing these folks forward. Progressive groups throughout the country are using people like Ms Cooper to get voter ID laws thrown out, calling them "Jim Crow" like. These organizations could very well use their time to help Ms. Cooper gather the appropriate documentation to get a Voter ID card. If the news people would ask one simple question... How do you cash a check? What if the police stop you, do ... More »
Retired US army general Stanley McChrystal doesn't mix words. One of the main problems with the American Militarily is they are very confident about how to get in to a war, Taking a country, but when it comes to getting out... that is a problem. I am a former NCO in the United States Army
Conservatives believe in personal responsibly because of their faith. No one, who is a person of faith, is waiting for God to come by and fix everything. It is a very naive understanding of theology to even consider that is the thought process of Conservatives. Here is something to consider, read the titles of the authors other works. He is obviously biased. His latest article. "Religious-Right Homophobes Whine That They're Being Oppressed" Hie obviously has "an axe to grind"/
Democracy Now continues to propagate misinformation. While Moore does point out the hypocrisy in Government, his idea that capitalism destroyed his town. It was greed pure and simple. Like the Steele industry Unions kept upping the benefits and base pay and retirement schemes that collectively priced themselves out of the market. Companies looked for labor that would allow to build a product and provide a profit. Look at each of these states and towns that are bankrupt and you will find forced union membership and companies who were unable to keep up with 50 dollar an hour unskilled laborers. Now he wants to re-open investigation on 9/11. I see another movie coming out about that family who left for some reason, any ... More »
Problem is Florida is not a southern state and does not represent the south well. South Carolina First in the South Primary is a bell weather of southern voters. SC has the diversity that is indicative of a southern state and should remain FITS. Florida has transplants from the NE and Mid-west. Florida has the demographics as such except the conservative Panhandle. This fight has gone on for years. Florida has many more electoral votes than SC. That would be the only reason for a change between SC top Florida as FITS. MY Understanding is that SC will keep moving its date up in this tit for tat fight, even though doing so will cause them to loose delegates at the convention
I am not an expert in Canadian and British Politics. This story gives me some insight in the process and content of Canadian/British Relations. I don't see much in the MSM on this issue

A good example how politicians use apples and oranges comparisons. IN this case, The president is comparing Buffett who pays capital gains tax and his secretary who pays income tax and social security tax and medicare tax. If Buffett really wanted to pay more tax, he would take a paycheck and then he would pay substantially more than his Secretary. BTW Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway owes about 1 billion in back taxes. His statements about wanting to pay higher tax is dishonest. Anyone can simply check the box to take out additional sums of money to reduce the national debt. It is right there on the tax form. I suggest the rich, not wait until Congress changes the tax code, and just check the box and allow pay additional ... More »
While Factcheck.org is run by a left leaning organization, this fact check seems accurate. I always consider why a fact checking group will take on an issue. in this case, Factcheck has ruled positivity on the President Healthcare reform Law. So by taking on this issue and ruling on it, they are actually saying that state run healthcare does not kill jobs. There is a major difference constitutionally of a state developing and running a health care program for it's citizens than a Federal level program that has mandates.
Politifact comes from the Left leaning St Pete Times. They are a bit biased toward reporting half-true or false statement from Republicans. When Politifact reports on the POTUS, it is usually a blatant disregard to the full facts. The example is that he uses something that a billionaire said about not paying the same tax rate as his secretary. That is true, but it is not based on apples to apples comparisons . Buffet pays capital gains tax as he does not take a paycheck. Income tax and Capital gains taxes are different. Obama is trying to push home the fact that folks are not paying their fair share in the upper income levels. 43% of Americans pay no income tax. The majority of the Tax burden is already held by ... Michael Moore Backs Call to Re-Open Investigation of 9/11 Attacks
Like a good bloodhound , Michael Moore once again leads us to the crime scene, but can't make us dig. This was probably more of a cover-up of incompetence and cronyism with the Saudis than it was a conspiracy, but i doubt if we will ever get the conclusive evidence.
Bob:
I do agree that there is an issue. But He is not the first dog on the pile. I wrote something on this on Sept 10th 2011. It is not new. former Senator Bob Graham said “This is the most important thing about 9/11 to surface in the last seven or eight years,” Graham ... More »
