It is a good read, but alas it is a blog, and moreover just a op-ed story.

Its not great journalism, but adequate. The writer seems to be more or less objective, but refers vaguely to "critics" and "analysts" for evidence but doesn't inform the reader as to who these people are.

It is an informative article, bringing a side-issue of immigration to the forefront. It does fall a little flat in breadth but gives the reader and adequate taste of the subject. It isn't well sourced but a savvy reader could verify the majority of the article's claims with state statutes if necessary.

When an article that is about McCain's travels to Mexico and South America starts with "Democrats have derided..." you know you may be dealing with a slightly imbalanced article. It turned out to be not-so-bad, but left me with question as to whether I should trust the writer. Other than that it was fairly imformative but I cannot shake the puff-piece feeling.

In this follow-up, Singel reports on the AT&T filing that Wired News should not be a party to the class-action lawsuit accusing AT&T of violating privacy laws by coorperating with the NSA. He adequately cites the previous germane Wired News articles as well as the .pdf and excerpts of the AT&T filing. He also has quotes from Wired News lawyers view on the matter, and finishes by succinctly summarzing the case's timeline so far.

An informative piece regarding safety as the the induction of robots into households and offices becomes commonplace. The author touches on familiar anecdotes of Asimov's Laws of Robotics but also more complex problems such as legal issues (e.g. selling robotic sex dolls resembling children).

A concise and informative article regarding China's censorship of google.com. The author does infer the timing of the censorship is related to the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989 without too much empirical evidence.

I think this is a good piece that was aired on 60 minutes that really informs the reader/viewer about what has been going on regarding the FDAs non-approval of selling Plan B over-the-counter. Lesley Stahl draws from a variety of sources including a former doctor in the FDAs Office of Women's Health, a doctor who was placed on the FDAs advisory council for this matter by Pres. Bush, and some anecdotal evidence which illustrates the problem with the status quo and obtaining the pill. Stahl also illustrates the potential conflict of religion playing a role in the still delayed FDA decision on the matter.

Although basic, the article is written plainly and with clarity, but the author could've said what he needed to say in about half as much text. As the other reviewers noticed, the only person with direct knowledge of the incident (Base Commander Harris) was using GOP talking points to relate the incidents to war, while the other hand (unquoted US officials) said there was no indication this incident was related to Zarqawi's death in Iraq.

A balanced and informative (although nothing new) piece regarding the controversy surrounding Guantanamo prison, focusing on different groups' reactions after the recent sucides of 3 men in custody. There are a plethora of quotes from interested parties, including calls from human rights groups from different countries who still question the legitmacy of the prison camp. The article really doesn't say much that hasn't already been said about the camp, but its good to see the press rehashing this important issue, especially iterating some other countries and groups views on the same.

An adequate amount of quotes from many different parties related to the subject of the article, including DFL and GOP representatives, as well as groups related to and including PBS and The Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

A well written article, with adequate amounts of quotes from the 3 interested parties (US, UN, UK), but the authors do inject a few adjectives that could be construed as opinion. Overall a solid objective summary on the row.

Well written article which at first glance seems to be a position paper in favor of ethanol, but after finishing it, it seems to be a fairly balanced summary of the debate about the efficiency of the production of ethanol as a fuel. He talks about both sides studies and the flaws in each, and seems to source his claims well.

An opinion article that cites mostly other opinion articles and blogs. Its tough to read, with too many links and not enough solid sources to support his, again, hard to read conclusions.

An interesting article written about a gentlman running an experiment about ocean fishing and how it may affect the evolution of fish. An entertaining read, to be sure, but it really doesn't give the reader the breadth of the issue he/she would really need to understand the magnitude of the "problem."
