The article starts out with the usually dribble that Israel is defending itself against Hamas rocket attacks. It does not point out that Israel renigged on it's ceasefire agreement by blockading Gaza, and assassinating members of Hamas. The article also refers to Hamas as militant, never mentioning that Hamas became an official political organization by winning legitimate elections. The article does point out that despite Israel's claim of asking civilians to leave, there is no where for Gazan's to go. The article also points out that this is why UN facilities in Gaza have turned into refugee camps, those facilities, and "...the street...", are the only place for Palestinians to go. And that keeps them in the line of fire. The ... More »

Thought my experience would help, and I'm sick of the one sided Main Stream Pro Israeli (Zionist) U.S. Media coverage.
The article starts out with the attack on the UN food compound, than moves on to the now seemingly required claim that Israel is defending itself (never mind that Israel drew First Blood with the blockade), then finally gets on with the details of what happened at the UN food compound. In passing the end of the article mentions that Israelis struck near yet another UN school. I recommend this story as an example of sly, biased reporting.
As a former Artillery Forward Observer (MOS 13F) I find it hard to believe that Israeli forces, using the latest GPS & targeting technology-and have been given the GPS locations of all UN facilities, are accidentally hitting those facilities. Also, witnesses in those areas counter the Israeli claim that they were being fired at from those facilities, but of course the U.S. Main Stream Media does not consider victims (in this case Palestinians in Gaza) reliable sources of information.
Interview with a qualified authority (University Professor & Israeli military veteran). Factual documented information presented. The Professor/veteran even uses Israeli government stats to prove wrong Israel's claim that Hamas violated the ceasfire agreement. The Professor/veteran also points out that Israel violated the ceasefire agreement once Hamas came to power in Gaza, again, using factual/documented information. The use of blockade tactics is considered an act of war under international, and U.S., law.
People should pay attention when a veteran of the military formation of Israel speaks up, and out, against that very nation. Unfortunately this kind of independent, and reliable, journalism is not seen by most of people in the U.S.

It is quality in that the writer is letting the subjects do the Op Ed. Also, the writer tries to balance the issue of Arabs being upset with their respective governments by quoting Arabs that support their governments. The quality of the journalism is diminished because quoting internet blogs is not real 'journalism', but simply 'reporting' what has already been published.
The writer needs to do more than just report what is being written on internet blogs. The issue of Arab mistrust & disgust with their governments is old news. What should be, and is being, done by the 'Arab Street' to rectify the situation?
What is presented are facts about who attended rally and quotes of what was said at the rally. The opinions in the story were expressed by the subjects and not the writer. Writer attempted to show that not all Jews are like those that attended the rally by quoting a Jewish Holocaust survivor.

Who's the real militant? Those launching ineffective homemade rockets, or those with the latest and greatest military weapon systems? Another slyly biased article.
