Submit and review stories quickly, from any Web page!

What is the NewsTrust bookmarklet?

The NewsTrust Bookmarklet is a link you can add to your browser's bookmarks toolbar. It lets you submit and review stories in a popup window, wherever you are. It's easy to install, and is a real time saver.

What does it do?

The NewsTrust bookmarklet lets you submit a news story to NewsTrust from its original web page. Clicking the bookmarklet will bring up the "Submit a Story" form with the story's title and URL already filled in.

How do I put the NewsTrust bookmarklet on my browser?

Follow the instructions for Internet Explorer (Windows):

  • Click on View at the top of this browser window.
  • Hover over Toolbars and make sure that Links is checked. If not, then select it to check it.
  • Right-click this link and select Add to Favorites:
  • You may get a Security Alert window telling you that you are adding a favorite that may not be safe. If so, press the Yes button to continue.
  • If you don't see a Create in: window below the Name: line, click on the Create in >> button.
  • Scroll through the list until you find the Links folder, click on it, and press the OK button.
  • The NewsTrust bookmarklet should now appear in the toolbar.

If you've followed the above instructions and you don't see the bookmarklet you've added, or even the Links Toolbar, then follow the steps below:

I can't find the Links Toolbar.

  • Click on View at the top of this browser window.
  • Hover over Toolbars and uncheck Lock the Toolbars. (And while you're there, double-check to make sure that links is checked.)
  • Look at all the toolbars until you see one called Links. It may be on the far right.

  • The NewsTrust bookmarklet should now be visible.
  • One last step. Again, click on View at the top of this browser window, hover over Toolbars and check Lock the Toolbars

I see the Links Toolbar but it's already filled with buttons and I can't find the NewsTrust bookmarklet.

  • The NewsTrust bookmarklet was added to the end of the row of buttons. If you don't see it but you do see a >> button on the far right side, then click on this button.
